Prophetstown Proud hosts a Christmas yard decorating contest each year. Deck your yard out for the holidays! The winner of the contest gets bragging rights for the entire year! Houses will be judged the evening of Friday, December 8th, after dark, so the lights will be on glowing display!
Winner will be announced on Saturday, December 9th!
Pumpkins, crispy leaves and all things fall — you’ll want to attend Prophetstown Proud’s Harvest Days! This is a one-day event of arts and crafts, vendors, and kids activities. Our local businesses will be offering special offers, sales and activities.
In 2023 we plan to make big changes that you will not want to miss! ALL vendors and activities will be in one area. There will be maps printed and posted online showing where craft vendors, food vendors, restrooms, activities, etc can be found. More changes will be announced as they are finalized throughout the year so stay tuned and be sure to like our facebook page.

Our goal is to make Prophetstown a more attractive option by giving our local residents and visitors to our town more reasons to visit and shop within the area. The Double Bucks program, T-shirt/tumbler discounts and Prophetstown Proud Bucks are just some of the promotions we have recently made available.
Each spring, flowers are planted in the planters lining Prophetstown’s Main Street and in the baskets hanging from the light poles. Flowers also adorn the baskets hanging in Eclipse Square. Adding color and character to our downtown, they provide a beautiful gateway to our community! Before the start of Christmas activities, the planters are decorated for the holidays.
Prophetstown Proud welcomes new business to the Prophetstown community with a ribbon cutting. This is a great way to introduce a new establishment to our town and neighboring areas. It also provides a wonderful photo for the local media!
Open Houses for new businesses are a good way to spread awareness about the services and products offered as well as gain the attention of potential new customers. They are also often held when the business expands into a new location or adds additional goods or services. When done in conjunction with a Ribbon Cutting, it is a grand way to start a new venture!
Prophetstown Proud hosts the City Wide Garage Sale each spring/early summer. For a nominal fee, participants receive a yard sign and are placed on the Garage Sale Map with the locations of each sale clearly marked. The maps are made available at local businesses for easy access by those interested. This is a fun weekend for browsers and bargain shoppers as they follow their maps and look for the perfect buy!

Prophetstown Proud’s Fourth Fridays is held on the Fourth Friday of each month from June through October. Enjoy free live music, food, giveaways, discounts from local shops, info from local organizations, activities for kids, vendors and more!

The Prophetstown Proud Annual Trivia Night is held at the Prophet Hills Country Club in early February usually. This year it will be in April. A theme for each Trivia Night is declared and participants decorate their tables, and themselves, to coincide with the theme. The best dressed table wins a prize! Each table holds 8 players. Ten rounds of trivia with ten questions each round are played. Participants are welcome to bring snacks or purchase a meal at the Club. All drinks must be purchased at the Club. A lot of laughter and a lot of fun is had by all!
